There have also been some soft murmurings from people in other parts of the world about maybe taking this to thier cities.
Tree Eyes Around The WORLD !!! Woohoooo...!! :-D
Do it! It's Easy. And super fun! ...Just be sure to send in a picture for the blog!!
It's a simple enough thing that someone could do by themself but could be a lot of fun to get a few friends together. Make a party out of it! Keeping with the green message we focused on reusing found items, natural, biodegradable materials, and not defacing or causing any damage to the trees. Some of the materials we used included a lot of cardboard (colored cardboard was useful), oyster shells, wine corks, beer tabs, bottle caps, beads, found trinkets... The simplest way we've found to put the eyes up without hurting the trees has been using twine to tie the around the tree.
I dunno what your city's like but some passerby or another will take the tree eyes if they're accessible to reach in this city. The eyes need to be tied up high enough so you'll need something to stand on.
When your done don't forget to take a picture of your guerilla art piece! Try to get one close up of your work and one from further back getting in the tree and the background. Remember to note the exact location, the street it's on, the nearest cross street and city (also mention if it's a landmark location), with the date and time of the installation.
Send your pictures to me or send me an email you to add you to collaborate on the blog!Look forward to hopefully getting some emails soon...!! :-)

Heyo!
wow, i found this site while researching other guerilla art projects in the country and i think that what you guys are doing is fucking rad!
Its funny because this summer some friends and i also got together to do a guerilla art project here in portland where we collected old boards and trinkets people were throwing away, painted them, and hung them around town as a sort of guerilla open art gallery. We also took unused newspaper boxes and turned them into "free boxes" where people could leave things they didn't want that others could use. We made one that looked like a little tree house i called "free" house, one that was a "free submarine" and i even put a propellor and parascope in it, shit like that. It was such a liberating experience and now i want to get involved with groups all over the country!!!
Anyway, im headed to new york sometime in april and would love to be apart of the guerilla tree art project! I will be with a few friends as one part of the "watch it grow" national art tour, and we would love for this project to be one of our collaborations!
This email is getting real long, so here is a link to the tour blog as well as my blog that has a post about the guerilla art gallery we hung this summer. Check them out and lets party and make art in NYC!!
